July 2012 Newsletter

From the President

Hope this finds everyone enjoying the warm summer weather as much as I do. I would like to start out this month’s letter by thanking some of the members who have been a big help in getting our course in such great shape. Even with the hot dry weather the course is looking and playing great. As you have noticed, we are in the process of cutting down the dead elm trees and having them hauled off. Johnny Vaughn has been hired to do this work and has been working hard to finish up. We are trying to get the dead trees on the course first and will try to get more in the creek area this winter. We have had several donations to help with this. Thanks to Red Higginbotham and Sue Herring for their help in this effort. Thanks to Clarence Vaughn for donating the skid loader and trailer for use in the clean-up and haul-off of the dead material.

The board has received complaints regarding the use of foul language around the club. I apologize to anyone who has been offended by this and would like to ask all members to remember that CCC is a family oriented club and we have many children around the club. Please refrain from use of bad language in any area of the club.

The washed out areas on Number 3 and 9 have been tilled, leveled and hydromulched. The grass is coming in very well and starting to look great! We would ask that you continue to avoid these areas while the grass gets started. We want to give a special THANK YOU to Jimmy Jones for a large donation to get this work done.

Some members have been going to the employees to complain about things they do not like regarding the operation and maintenance of the club, bar and golf course. Please remember that you need to speak to the board member in charge of the area of your complaint and they will get with the employees. Our employees are doing a good job and it is hard when they have too many bosses telling them what they need to do. Please contact a board member or me when you have a problem. We may have an answer or we will try to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Come on out and enjoy the pool, golf course, bar and restaurant!!! See you there!! Travis
