From the President
Are you ready for
some football!!! The summer season is
coming to an end but that doesn’t mean we need to give up our golf time. Fall is probably the very best time for golf
in the Texas panhandle. The wind is
usually reasonable and temperatures are just right. Be sure and come on out and play! I hope everyone had a great summer. It sure
felt short this year. We have a couple
of tournaments this month that we really need to get out and support. Unfortunately our tournaments have been down
in participation this year and the Board is planning on taking a very hard look
at our schedule for next year. It looks
like reducing the number of tournaments is one of our options. If you have thoughts on this, let one of the
Board members know.
Special thanks this month to several people who have given their time and efforts to the club. Charlie McClure has been taking care of our sign on Highway 60 and the grass around it for several years. This involves hauling his personal lawnmower back and forth and mowing through grass, weeds and trash on some really hot days!! Let Charlie know that we appreciate the work! Jill Harrison has done an excellent job of maintaining our pool this summer. She handled all the cleaning, chemicals and landscaping around the pool and did a great job. Thanks Jill! Thanks to Clarence Vaughn and Bob Lang for their work on the big well this month. I know that I have left out a lot of people who do a lot of work, THANKS to everyone who helps this club operate.
We are glad to
announce that Brad Tooley has agreed to take the vacant Board position for the
remainder of the year. I know that he
will be an asset to the club.
Remember that
Friday Night Scrambles are still going on and this is a great way to meet fellow
members and have a good time. The Super
Scramble will be coming up real soon and we need a big turn-out.
Travis
