October 2014

From the President

Greetings!  I hope your fall is starting off well.  It seems like it’s already a little cooler and wetter than usual for this time of year.  The rain sure has been good for the course this year.  More rain this fall is only going to help, especially in areas that we’ve tried to improve.

Speaking of improvements, the Board and staff has come to the conclusion that keeping carts off of the fairways this fall and winter will help prevent further damage at a time of year when the grass is most vulnerable.  When the grass is dormant during the winter months it is more susceptible to cart damage.  This in addition to several years of drought has taken a toll on parts of the course.  Our goal is to “rest” the fairways a little and then make further improvements next spring.  Starting October 15th, the course will be cart paths only, until a time to be determined next year.   We ask for your understanding and cooperation in this effort.

I would again like to thank our staff for all the work they do as well as those members who do a lot of work around the course.  There are several who put in a lot of time and effort to benefit the club without many people knowing about it.  They are very much appreciated!

Blessings,

Chad

From the GM

Hello Members,

Well it looks as if the cooler weather has started to show up.  It sure makes for some great golfing days as long as the wind doesn’t blow in with it!!  With the arrival of Labor Day it sure gets slow around here.  If you get the chance you should head out and play.  Days are usually not very busy and you can get around at a nice pace.  Come on out and see for yourselves!!

Thanks to all that played and to the Burton Family for their continued sponsorship of this event!!

Well there are only 1events left this season:   19 Man Shootout on the 19th.  Get signed up if you want to play!!!
